Story
Search google news or your favorite news site for huckabee and WOR. They didn’t mention which show, but the logical one is Steve Malzberg. Huckabee (according to the AP) said that Barack Obama hates the US because he grew up in Kenya. (why was the AP “monitoring” Malzberg, I wonder…)
Michelle Obama called Kenya Barack’s homeland – who are we to argue with that?
My guess was correct – this happened yesterday on Steve Malzberg’s show. Huckabee’s people indicate it was just a mistake – that he meant Indonesia, not Kenya. But Huckabee also used Kenya as a reference to explain Obama’s anti-English hatred.
Today’s show (it’s available on delay) is covering the media feeding frenzy as everyone is trying to get an interview with Malzberg…. He’s going to replay the interview
Steve’s biggest fault is he is incapable of admitting when he is wrong His voice goes up and he mutes callers and talks over them – this is a long standing complaint of mine.
Huckabee absolutely blew it yesterday. In the same sentence he mentioned Kenya and the Mau Mau revolution – which was the effort to kick English colonial rule out of Kenya. Huckabee did not “have a slip of the tongue” – meaning he said Kenya when he meant Indonesia. Huckabee was factually wrong. Malzberg continued to protect Huckabee playing the clip where Huckabee said “the Mau Mau uprising” influenced Obama and Malzberg repeated that Huckabee really meant Indonesia.
Huckabee probably heard Dinesh D’Souza talking about his book of how Barak Obama was influenced by the anti-colonialism movement in Kenya and drew some incorrect conclusions. If Huckabee has evidence Barack Obama was ever in Kenya prior to being in his 20s, that’s major league news. Otherwise, he should admit his mistake and restate his concern that President Obama is on the path to undo colonial rule in Africa (The United States had no colonies in Africa, unless you want to call Liberia a colony as we returned slaves to Africa). Being Anti-British doesn’t make him anti-American – ask Thomas Jefferson.
I’m going to say something here I thought I’d never say – I vote with Michelle about Barry’s Homeland – if not his actual Homeland, then his Spiritual Homeland.
Or the land of Bill Ayers’ dreams.
AP wouldn’t recognize the truth if they sat on it and turned it into a suppository.
