ABC Radio news (owned by Citadel) has let go about 20 employees. The spiral continues – less product = fewer listeners = less money = fewer employees. ABC News is still very strong in Middle America since it was the home of Paul Harvey. With his death, ABC news no longer has as much clout with this small town stations. Fox Radio News will probably be the winner.
Citadel Media (the new name for ABC radio) also lost Jim Robinson, its President today. Look for big changes to Citadel shortly. The quarter just ended, and the banks have another decision to make after they see how bad the quarter’s earnings were..
