The Next Government power grab

Prescription drug registry arrives in MT

I just heard on the hourly news this is now being pushed from Washington DC.

Because we need to protect people [the children?] from drug overdoses, each state is going urged to create a mandatory prescription drug registry, so that the states (and presumably shared with the Feds) will have a database of every prescription medication. This is really just a head start on Obamacare – once the government is buying your drugs, you can’t exactly claim that you have a right to privacy (unless it is a prescription for birth control or abortion pills or HIV drugs, of course)

So the next logical step is to require drug makers to stamp a unique serial number on every pill that can be tracked back to your prescription – so when that Oxycontin pill shows up on the street, the police can knock on your door and accuse you of selling prescription drugs to drug addicts.

Who could argue with that?

What’s the next logical step? Linking the db to your insurance premiums, or maybe your voting registration? The possibilities are endless.
This reminds me of Calif. many years ago trying to put serial numbers on bullets

I think it is time to write a novel and the probable name could be “2084”. But I see no way that the government would ever attempt to track our movements.

This guy in MT needs to get a hobby….and leave me alone.
