So that’s how it got so bloated! :)
I am curious. Which came first, the bunny or the egg?
and why is a bunny carrying around eggs in the first place?
Mine: That the ‘official’ date of Easter is determined by the moon (pagan).
Magic Mushrooms anyone? That’s why the bunny’s eggs were so colorful…
A number of years ago I read a thoughtful piece – I want to say it may have been Asimov, but don’t remember for sure. The question was “how would Earth be different if there wasn’t a moon?”
Without the moon, it might have taken much longer to realize that the Earth is a sphere that orbits around the sun and the stars are not just a painting on the inside of a dome. I would take it a step further and guess that life might have evolved differently without the lunar tidal forces. The human reproductive cycle being 28 days is likely not a coincidence.
Not only the moon, but the seasonal (life) cycles setup by Earth’s orbit, precession (poles), oscillation, vibration, waves, etc.
I’ve wondered if a ‘moon’ is necessary for complex life (an oscillator)… i.e. a solar system is an atom on a macro scale. “As above, so below.”
Alas, I’m digressing into the “Kingdom of Nye”.
