Belarus – the next Libya

http://blogs.voanews.com/russia-watch/2011/04/18/belarus-bombing-in-the-police-state/

Belarus is out of money. As it devalues its money, it has to increase the amount paid to government employees and pensioners, creating a larger deficit and feeding the death spiral. The country is ruled by a brutal dictator whose government is banned from travel.

You may remember a subway bombing about a week ago in Minsk. They caught the guy who planted the bomb, but have been unable to figure out a motive. [uh-huh]

Belarus has 198 million barrels of proven reserves.

Back in the Soviet days, a lot of the consumer goods in Russia came from Belarus because they had a bit more freedom than the Russians and still would do work – but they didn’t have resources to do R&D or buy western technology, hence the consumer goods were 30 years behind the rest of the world.

Also, if Russia needs to send tanks into Europe to enforce their “duty to protect” Tunisian protestors from France’s Sarkozy regime and his Loyalist military officers, Belarus is on the path

Belarus is still a communist stronghold. No chance the Bamster will go up against “the evil empire” – not when he wants to emulate Mao.
