What if Citadel/Premiere split (markets #6-#10)?
Houston (#6)
KTRH (Clear Channel) Beck, Rush, Hannity
KNTH (Salem) Dr Laura
No work to do here
Atlanta (#7)
WGST (Clear Channel) Beck, Rush, (Levin)
WSB (Cox) Hannity
WFDR (Locally Owned) Dr Laura
Philadelphia (#8)
WPHT-AM (CBS) Beck, Rush, Hannity
WNPV (Local) Dr Laura
Washington, DC (#9)
WMAL (Citadel) Rush, Hannity
WHFS (CBS) Beck
WRNR (Local – Martinsburg, WV) Dr Laura, WTNT on Sunday
Clear Channel owns WFMD-AM in Frederick Maryland, but the signal doesn’t really reach D.C. in a meaningful way (and it’s in the Aloha trust to be divested). The lowest rated FM station is WMZQ-FM, a country station, but it still has decent ratings. Clear Channel has 5 FM stations in DC, so they’re maxed out.
Bonneville is the logical choice for a lot of reasons – they have WTOP-AM back from Air America just simulcasting the all-news WTOP-FM. WFED-AM (the former WTOP-AM) is 50kw but probably occupied as a money maker… Red Zebra has 50kw WTEM running sports. Since it’s owned by someone heavily invested in sports, that seems unlikely. WUST-AM is a 20kw Daytime-only station running ethnic programming – not likely.
Boston (#10)
We already know the plan for Boston – Beck, Rush and Hannidty are going to AM 1200 in a week.
