Beck lands on LA finally – on Salem’s KRLA-AM. It will be carried live, which is 6-9 AM Pacific time – “morning drive”.
Salem mostly carries only its own syndicated hosts, plus Savage. Salem has probably resisted Beck since some of Salem’s core audience probably are uncomfortable with Beck’s LDS background… But 0.7% ratings don’t pay the bills… And Beck is not as bad as getting a root canal…
What is ironic is the liberals who are so uncomfortable with Beck being LDS would VEHEMENTLY deny that they had any problem whatsoever with any other religion – Muslims, Jews, Hindus, etc… Their faux tolerance only extends to groups that they’ve been told need to be tolerated. Bigotry is OK against Mormons and Christians in general. Hypocrites.
Jared, I’m not sure the Salem listeners could be characterized as “liberals”. I suspext that Beck’s respect for Objecxtivist/Libertarianism principles may not play well with that core group either, On the other hand, his apocaliptic / last-days views should fit well in their world view. He will probably bring new listeners with him as well. It could be a good match for Salem. It works in Grand Junction, CO
