I guess she sees the handwriting on the wall for Clear Channel. Dr Laura is already on Sirius/XM. I wonder who owns her website and its customers?
Reading another more detailed account, it looks like Dr Laura already owns her own show. Premeire will continue to handle her national ad sales, but TRN will manage the syndication.
Dr Laura is currently on 3-6pm (Eastern) Live. That’s the same time as Jerry Doyle, but TRN has a big hole in their schedule from Noon-3PM. I wonder if TRN is going to move Dr Laura to Noon-3PM, and put her directly up against Rush Limbaugh…
Hmmm…move Jerry Doyle or Dr Laura to noon. My bet is they shift Jerry to face Rush (poor Jerry!) and keep Laura in her present slot.
In the big scheme of things, Dr Larua’s show being “live” isn’t as critical as many others – she tries to do things to keep it current, like commenting on things in the news, so you know it isn’t a 4 year old show… but I could see them moving it to Noon to 3, and offering a refeed at its current 3-6PM, and most listeners would never know. TRN has 3 satellite channels (at least), so it isn’t a problem to feed Doyle live and Dr Laura delayed at the same time.
