The Washington Post has a “news” article today on its politics pages that is extraordinary.
In the first phrase, they throw away any pretense of objectivity:
The number of Americans who believe — wrongly — that President Obama is a Muslim has increased significantly…
This is the same group of Progessive Journ-O-lists who say beliefs cannot be wrong as they are not facts and that nothing in life is black or white, just shades of Gray. President Obama is not a Muslim – the Washington Times Post has told us so (in between publishing WikiLeaks). All the usual progressive publications and organizations declare the same “fact”. It’s almost like they have a secret mailing list where they decide “truth”. Oh that’s right, they do.
Here are the facts
– President Obama’s father was a Muslim
– that makes him a Muslim
– if Barack Obama actually converts to Christianity, he is an apostate, which is a capital offense in Sharia law
What is more important than the Washingon Post reported poll is – what do Muslims think?
I confess — I used to to write for a number of “news organizations,” the most egregious among them being Knight-Ridder. On the day of infamy we now just call “9-1-1,” I remember watching the towers collapse on CNN (of course) on the newsroom monitors. Reactions among the assembled Fourth Estate ranged from disgust to vocalized derision … for President Bush and his “hick” accent. That’s right, not for the murdering bastards, the “fruits” of intolerant, crazy Islam, but for the President of the United States of America because (1) he said “terrah,” meaning of course “terror,” and (2) because he was a Republican. Of the twenty-some gathered there, I believe I was the sole conservative. So, Art, the mutation of a fair, firm and impartial press into a sycophantic lapdog of the left was continuing well apace, even then. If PC makes you sick (and may get us killed), the the moral relativism bristling throughout this item should have you sending for the priest. I still love journalism, but I just can’t seem to find much of it anywhere. RIP Fourth Estate. We hardly knew ye.
The stronger evidence happened during the campaign, but only got a few mentions in the “far right wing” media – on “This Week”, Barack Obama said “You’re right, John McCain has not talked about my Muslin faith”‘
After listening to part of Glenn Beck’s sermon today, it’s clear to me that since Obama thinks all paths lead to the same God, it is entirely possible that Obama can believe he is both a Muslim and Christian at the same time. I’m betting though that he believes only in “getting over”.
Back in public elementary school, even after the 8-1 “No Bible Reading in public schools” Supreme Court decision in 1963 (Murray v Curlett), the music book in Music Class contained a song with the same message (my long term memory is failing to remember the name)… that Your God and My God are One – it seemed kind of like the Unitarian message…
Here is an interesting bit of additional information about founding fathers and their religion:
