If a picture is worth 1,000 words, then a video is worth…
This is the multi-user game that is currently shut down by Sony. This is a randomly selected video from this game – there are probably 1000s of them.
What makes this one something to be aware of:
– it’s real time multi-user
– the “enemy” aren’t robots, ghouls, zombies, Nazis or the usual evil doers – they are other human players
– the game is being played worldwide by real soldiers in their “off time” interacting with younger boys
– tools like this game are used to desensitize soldiers so that when it comes time to pull the trigger for real, they won’t hesitate, since they’ve done it 1000 times before. The mind starts to combine fantasy and reality in the morality department.
Unfortunately, kids find out that real combat is nothing like a video game.
I have a feeling not supported by any facts – that you have just described the “Rebels” from Benghazi who run willy nilly over open ground with no plan. Unlike video games. If you die, there is no respawn button – at least not one that puts you back in the fight.
The “rebels” remind me of the Iraqi National Guard, circa 2004, without U.S. soldiers propping them up (although I guess they were a lot better equipped and armed then these “rebels’)
