Once we get the minimum wage to $50, nobody will want to work in IT anymore when they can make more flipping burgers at McDonalds. (I’m pretty sure they no longer flip burgers)
Charlotte’s TV station says 16,000 H-1B visas for IT workers have been filed, just in the Charlotte area.

Programmers from India started arriving in my niche area at least 20 years ago. Fortunately, 98.72% of them were completely incompetent, many with totally fake resumes. It’s hard for corporations to pass up a bargain.
If it takes them twice as long to do the job as expected, the finance guy has PowerPoints showing they saved twice as much money as expected because of the lower hourly rate.
