The oil industry is facing a crisis – a large portion of the existing work force in the oil business is hitting retirement age about the same time. While young people have been learning how to be transgender and pouring coffee at Starbucks, oil companies need engineers, roughnecks, pipeline technicians and refinery workers – hard, physical, dangerous dirty work incompatible with meterosexual manicures.
A lot of the jobs that Donald Trump hopes to bring back to America no longer exist and won’t exist again – but oil jobs will be plentiful and our schools are not preparing students for those jobs.
It seems to me that the type of individual Fred describes went by the by over the last 20 years or so. There aren’t many roughnecks, engineers, technicians and such that want to work hard, physical, dangerous and dirty work as that is associated with “manliness”. This trait is not politically correct today and would bring shame and derision from society at large. The male human has been a bit feminized and that moves him away from such behavior and such work.
