France: Maybe Qadaffi doesn’t have to leave after all

From the first moments, the “Rebels” have been the ones with the unreasonable position – that Qadaffi must go and that’s non-negotiable.   Qadaffi and his son have suggested the idea of a national election to give legitimacy to the resulting government and aid in reconciliation, which will be difficult in the best of cases.

So now that the US said the Libyan money is the rebels and France has stuffed it into their Swiss bank accounts, they don’t care about that place in the desert any more.

The “Rebels”  (or is it the government? – this is so confusing) took heavy casualties today trying to take Brega away from Qadaffi’s forces again.

As someone once said to me, “It doesn’t matter what you want if you don’t have the ability to make it happen”.
