Herman “9-9-9” Cain has had enough. He has turned in his 30 day notice to his syndicator. He will still be heard on WSB in Atlanta and other Cox stations. The syndicator is suggesting Kilmeade as a replacement. It may be this is really an alignment making room for Chris Plante.

- RebelSansClue said Happy New Year! Is the Savage podcast any good?
- Fred Stiening said The podcast has arrived. It is free, at least for now.
- RebelSansClue said I don’t even want to think about that. The day when Rush does his last show (if he hasn’t already) is getting ever nearer. I still think there’s a place for traditional radio though. Outdoor internet connections aren’t as stab...
- RebelSansClue said Yeah, but this site has better content!
- Fred Stiening said Kind of like here.
- RebelSansClue said Meh. No big loss. His web site looks about 2004ish. Really amateurish.

- Fred Stiening said After I wrote that, one station defaulted to using iHeartRadio for the stream. How Amazon decides which streaming service to use I have no idea. It appears that you can tell Alexa which streaming service you want to use.

- Fred Stiening said One of my complaints about “big radio” is they tend to view on-air hosts as interchangeable. Inga lived and worked in the Central valley. She knew the people and politics of managing water resources, and the reliance on seasonal immigra...

I like Herman and admire his business background but Chris brings some valuable knowledge to the job of conservative radio talker. Not only is he the son of a longtime liberal CBS news correspondent, he’s also a CNN veteran who knows from the inside how the sausage is made.
John Batchelor is inching off the stage. He used to do the Sunday night show live to catch the stock market opens in Asia. The Saturday and Sunday shows have been recorded segments from his vast library of interviews for probably five years now, many of them authors of history books. Six days a week with 4 hours a day was insane. Doug Stephen is the other example that nutty.
So at year end, the Saturday and Sunday night shows go away. It would be totally reasonable for him to join the ranks of talk show hosts that don’t work on Friday and have a personal life again. Under President Trump, there won’t be much to talk about.
