Michael Baisden Returns to Syndication

Newspaper coverage in the Atlanta Urinal and Constipation

Just in time for the Donald Trump hateathon, Michael Baisden is returning to radio syndication. He used(?) to do a show for TV One, the TV arm of Radio One, the racially segregated media network based in Washington DC. He was syndicated on radio by Cumulus Media, and the deal fell apart in 2013, resulting in lawsuits over money.

Not familiar with Blaisden. If he is a progressive Alinksy-ite then so much the better.

I’n not that familiar with him, either. His topics seem like Tom Joyner or Steve Harvey – talking about relationships, current events and stuff, although he is somewhat political along the lines that conform with his cultural identity. Very few topics are unrelated to his racial identity. I don’t expect him to talk about vouchers for charter schools unless it is the party line that vouchers drawn money away from teacher unions.

Yes – good point – Steve Harvey is a wonderful radio personality. Witty, insightful and down to earth. When he occasionally strays to politics, I cringe and change the station.

His show was only on for a short while in Detroit, and I really liked it. He did music and relationship topics most of the time. If he headed into too much political solidarity, I’m sure I would turn it off, but 8-10 years ago, I found that he rarely did that, and had many of his sets of material structured into the program for a set day and time, and they were non-political.
