“The National Guard is intensifying training in preparation for deployment of 93 Guard members next month for a year-long peacekeeping tour in Egypt.”
I’m thinking that “tour” might involve the country to the west of Egypt
Kinda begs for a fuller discussion of the meaning of the word, “National.” As in whose nation?

If US troops now enter Libya and are at risk of being killed, does the 60 day War Powers clock start all over? After all, this Libya and the Libya of 6 months ago are two entirely different countries.

Saif, the son of Ghaddafi who is the smart one most likely to run the country if the “revolution” fails… Has appeared on TV out in the open in front of Western TV cameras. His “capture” by “rebels” was a complete ruse to draw the rebels into Tripoli.

Oil prices are headed back up.
My heart sinks a little bit lower, at some point those who control our government migrate from ‘misguided’ and ‘misdirected’ and ‘poor decisions’ to just plain evil.
I agree Hpaws”Misguided”. I heard someone say it was ‘amateur hour’ at the white house, and I really think it is!
You know, if that crazy Jimmy Carter had let the development of the Neutron bomb continue, we could have used that bad-boy in Oct. 2001, been done, and now(10 years later) start letting US oil companies begin to start moving back into Iraq and Afghanistan.
No instead we waste many good U.S serviceman and servicewoman lives, did not help women’s rights in either country that much or is still non-existent and we have to pay more for oil more than ever. (even though I blame Geithner for the oil cost). And now Libya/Egypt fiasco. I am writing my congressman. I am also buying one of those U.S Marines Benelli M4 shotguns. before we cannot.
Art: what do I use to listen to s station that wants to download a *.pls file ? Quicktime ? I havn’t gotten those to play yet and it says windows media player won’t open it. thanks!

.pls is “Shoutcast format” MP3 playlists. WIndows Media Player could easily play them, but Microsoft has long running legal disputes with AOL which owns WinAmp, the people who created shoutcast.
Go to the WinAmp Site, search around for the “Lite” Version, and when asked by AOL “Would you like to also install…. answer NO! to every question”. iTunes and RealPlayer will play .pls, I think – but only if you tell the browser to launch them.

How’s this for a unique theory: our military is deployed in “endless wars” “over there” for the primary purpose of peventing the main patriotic class from overthrowing a treasonous administration. Ahem…that would include all administrations back to H.W. Bush. Now, the National Guard is the last removal from our nation’s soil to assure completion of the 30 year socialist plan (and I don’t even take drugs).
A good start, but it goes back much further and deeper than H.W. Bush.
The Report from Iron Mountain would be a good place to begin.
Endless wars to implement ‘peace’ and:
1) deliberately and slowly bankrupt the nation
2) condition troops to police civilians (martial law)
3) enforce the U.N. mandate for global disarmament
4) as with #3 above, train troops to confiscate firearms
My personal favorite, gleefully spewed by the paid propagandists in the liberal media, is that we are “spreading democracy”. Indeed… by force.
#2 is very much what this is about. Seizing control of large urban populations against their will is something that requires training and refinement of the techniques. Iraq is primarily a dry run. One of the radio hosts yesterday put into words what many of us are thinking – that the ultimate endgame for Obama’s puppet masters is to ignite a race war in the United States. Maxine Waters telling her audience to send the Tea Party straight to Hell is the most tangible evidence. Going to hell means first the people have to die.
I doubt the International Criminal Court will be indicting her for advocating genocide, however.
