I’ve posted stories from the earliest days of the civil war how the “Rebels” were working under the assumption that any black skinned African in the country was a “mercenary” working for Qaddafi, with no evidence. Many were killed right on the spot despite having no weapons and not engaged in anything other than being black.
Now that the New York Times thinks the civil war is “over”, they get around to explaining some of the ugly context of what the “Free Libya” folks have as their actual political agenda.
In another report, the Rebels are preparing for yet another “purge” of their government of people they don’t trust. This is not uncommon after a civil war ends. In the United States, we had the 14th Constitutional amendment that prohibited people who supported the Confederacy from holding any political or government office.
3. No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.
Part of the reason the rebuilding of Iraq too so long and was so expensive was the initial position that anyone who had been employed by Saddam’s government could not work for the new government. It’s pretty hard to run a government when nobody knows where things are or how to run things. Most people will not stand up to a tyrant who controls the military and secret police.
Silly me… for thinking that Libya is part of Africa.
Alas, NYT journalists now qualify ‘black’ as being a sub-Saharan.
So, is the new PC term for blacks ‘sub-Saharan African-American’?
This is getting really confusing for us Nordic European Americans.
I lie in wait for those delicious times when some PC-stricken shit calls a black Brit or Frenchman or Canadian or the like “African-American.” Oh, yes! All over it with my big, hairy, oafish un-PC brogans.
Negro was a usefully descriptive term about ethnicity, as is mulatto. Negro comes from the ancient Latin root meaning “black”. Africa is not a race, it’s a continent – even Sarah Palin knows that.
But as the Attorney General appointed by our mulatto President says, we’re afraid to talk honestly about race in America.
High shools and colleges are now teaching (indoctrinating) students with the idea that “there is no such thing as race”.
Unless, of course, you are a minority… in which case you are entitled to establish all manner of racially exclusive (aka ‘ehtnic’) societies and student groups on campus.
Art, you bring up a point. Whenever a black person identifies themselves as African-American, I pose this question: “Which part of Africa? Which country, nation, or region?

For Black Americans who actually go to Subsaharan Africa (not as a specially organized event), it’s a real wakeup call. I lived in hearing distance of Detroit a good part of my adult life. You might have picked up that I do listen to black radio (as much as I can handle in one dose)
My prior statement was also a bit glib. A black from Kenya is no more similar to a black from Nigeria than an Englishman is similar to a Russian.
So upon getting off the plane, in an environment where people can handle the truth, your typical Native African would say – “Hello American’. They would quickly be told they aren’t an African adn will never be an African – they know nothing of the culture, language, traditions, foods, religions of Africa – and kwanzaa is made up crap having nothing to do with anything African..
One thing that people don’t understand is that almost all slaves who wound up in the Western Hemisphere came from West Africa – peoples who had been slaves under the Berbers (see: Libya/Morocco) for 500 years before Europeans showed up. The number of people from Kenya who have direct relatives who were slaves in America is close to zero. East Africans wound up as slaves of Arabs and wound up in Asia and Eastern Europe.
One of the things I do to cause discomfort is to ask “So if a rich African chief comes to this country and becomes a U.S. citizen, should he get affirmative action?
I expect before the Obama administration is over, we’re going to see “reparations” come up. The large bulk of black people in America had ancestors who were slaves in Cuba, Haiti, South America. Even in the most generous notion, I have no responsibility for Spaniards bringing slaves to grow sugar in Cuba. Fidel Castro, on the other hand…
Frankly, I think reparations are already being implemented under the guise of entitlements, tax credits, ObamaCare, etc… along with some ‘payback’ to white Americans at the hands of the mostly minority (black) TSA Agents.
Reparations largely is a ‘racist’ agenda, since a majority of Americans with European ancestry actually immigrated here after the Civil War.
Over half of all European immigrants to Colonial America during the 17th and 18th centuries arrived as indentured servants.
So we might ask Obama: who is the liable party?

Okay, so here is the “truth” according to Black Radio and the Nation of Islam
Back in the ancient days, the Black [East] African ancestors of Lewis Farrakhan were inventing science and building pyramids until the “Fake Jews” (the people living today in Israel) took Nubians into slavery and stole all their knowledge and made them slaves.
Then this black Nubian guy named Jesus came along and upset the carts of the Fake Jewish bankers in Jerusalem driving them out of the Real Jewish Nubian temple. The Fake Jews set up the Roman Catholic church and put all the Kings and Queens in power in Europe with the Fake Jews running everything behind the scenes, including the slave trade.
So it’s obviously the fault of the “Fake Jews” of Israel. You can learn so much about “history” on Black Radio.
