It took a few months, but a voice at the NY Times finally brings out the truth that there is no truth in Libya. The Benghazi forces just made things up, which most of the reporters (Ed. Especially the BBC and the British Newspapers) reported as fact.
A few years ago when Israel sent troops into South Lebanon, the AP was caught red handed photoshopping images, incorrectly stating the time and location of events and omitting key details about the context of what was going on.
Americans live winners, not principles. It was completely predictable that the day Qadaffi was killed, 20% of Americans would suddenly say “Yes, this war was a good thin and I supported it all along”.
The Voice of America is US government Propoganda, but at least everyone knows it. Having said that, the VOA over the years have mostly been good journalists. They don’t pass on rumors as facts, they require multiple independent sources. There was a marked change in Libya – they started out being skeptical of the Benghazi claims and where they were relying solely on claims from spokespeople not backed by facts or independent witnesses, they made it clear that the spokespeople are probably lying. After a month or do, there was a marked change in their coverage, just repeating the NTC and US State Department press releases as facts.
You may remember during the US defeat of Iraq the Iraqi spokesman stating as a fact that no American forces were in Baghdad on a split screen showing live video of the US Tanks in control of downtown Baghdad. Governments lie.
Now the propoganda machine wants us to militarily go after Iran. Call of Duty video game’s new version came out yesterday. Every teenage boy in the world with a computer is honing his skills on how to kill “the enemy” training their mind that they’re just killing zombies without souls and not troubled by principles, morality or that conscience thing.
This week the world celebrated the 7 billionth person alive on Earth. As long as humans have existed, people have asserted “there are too many people” and have used war to deal with that perception.
The stage is set for a massive reduction in “the excess population”. The troops are ready, the tactics have been refined, the technology is in place, the safety is off the trigger.
Yes… bit.ly and ow.ly are safely under the protection of the U.S. again.
We can’t allow barbaric Arabs to control the provisioning of their own TLDs.
As for video game indoctrination; the zombies are, in fact, the gamers… recent USAF incidents involving drone ‘pilots’, dead Arab civilians, and drone viruses are examples.
If you’ve seen the command center (i.e. cockpit) for the drones, it’s just a big video game. The pilot and fire-control officers sit half a world (8,000 mi) away from the ‘battlefield’… relying on drones for combat duty is not very prudent or ‘humane’.
In the past day, I was considering creating a poll
“How is U.S. Drone dropping bombs on civilians different than a V-1 buzz bomb?”, but figured it might be too inflammatory.
I think it’s pretty inevitable that the Drone will become a major tool used domestically. Initially, monitoring the US Border (who could argue with that?), but moving on to coordinate speed traps (using planes or helicopters with human pilots is generally cost prohibitive), but eventually be used for dropping bombs. A drone dropping a bomb is much more effective than taking someone into custody and having a trial.
I look at tazers as the prototype – originally they seemed like a good idea – giving police a final alternative to pulling their gun and killing a suspect. Now their use has devolved into the first tool to be used, bypassing the need for actually talking with the suspect, or touching the suspend, or establishing probable cause. If the suspect refuses to cooperate with your “investigation”, you taze them into compliance.
At least in my area, police dogs are also being used for the same purpose. They aren’t being used just to track fleeing suspects or sniff out contraband – they’re becoming a weapon to bypass due process – with the kicker that if you defend yourself from an attacking police dog, it’s the same as attacking the police officer.
The urge of the left to demonize the US Military on the treatment of prisoners is ultimately backfiring. Taking a combatant into custody on a battlefield and then having a legal fight as if they are someone accused of shoplifting just isn’t worth it. Call in the drones, artillery or missiles, and just kill everyone nearby. You lose most of the human intelligence you might have obtained by “torturing” them by tickling their feet, but at least you don’t wind up spending the rest of your career in a court house.
