The red dot is where the shooter’s body was found (at least I think so based on the crime scene tape pictures)
This is on the southern end of the campus. Most of what is South of here is the various football, baseball and soccer stadiums and the related parking lots.
The reports today say the events occured on Washington Street. You’ll see a bus stop there, which is consistent with the story that he took a bus to the campus after he tried to steal/hijack a car.
After shooting the police officer, he hid in the greenhouses and that’s where he changed clothes. With 100s of police now in the area, he walked to the parking lot, was spotted by a police officer who thought he was acting oddly, and when he tried to make contact, he found the body.
That’s the “story” at this point. An amazingly fast ballistics test showed the gun that killed the officer also killed the shooter. (they already have the slug from the dead officer’s brain?)
