The Headmistress says she will not tolerate students riding the elevator in the school without using an authorized identity card. This infraction cannot go unpunished!
Perhaps they were too tired to walk up the stairs without their sugary soft drinks.
This country will not be safe until every person has a felony conviction on their record (except the government employees, that is)
One of my Aha! Moments growing up involved an elevator in a situation like this. The church that I attended as a child (right next door to the one Quinn & Rose attend) had an elevator installed in the early 1960s to make it easier for people to get to the balcony.
Kids being kids, riding the elevator for no reason was a source of endless amusement. It was a hydraulic elevator with 3 floors.
One day, I was at some church event, and someone suggested “hey let’s go ride the elevator, wink wink”. Being oblivious to the things going on around me, it sounded like fun. I probably was 12 or 13 – it was a group of 6 or 7 kids, who I all knew as children of the church elders, deacons, etc…
So we got to a certain point and the “do it now” order was given. One of the older kids grabbed the doors and forced them open. We were in between floors – the elevator stopped since the door was open, but the outer doors stayed shut as we were between floors.
What I saw was that apparently the children of the church had a long tradition of scrawling incredibly vile things on the interior side of the elevator doors. I never felt quite the same about the children I was spending time with at this holy place. I also became more aware of just how frequently the elevator was stuck between floors for no obvious reason.
