In case you’ve been living in a cave, the History Channel has been running a 5 week series to explain the Bible in 10 hours (less the commercials). The series has drawn an audience of 22 million, with total reach of 50 million
The “Christian Science” monitor throws in their opinion. The story seems decidedly negative toward the series without overtly saying so. One “woman on the street” interview has the woman saying she doesn’t like all that Old Testament war stuff and wishes it would get to the Jesus part of the story.
For anyone who doesn’t know – that share 22 million is on a par with the best share for American Idol in its heyday.
I find the series stunning and fascinating. I could read all of that (and have), but to see it (even in quick time) is very profound.
All the more a miracle since it’s a cable TV channel, and one people may not be used to watching
The cable company always knows what channel my cable box is tuned to, what I am watching on their DVR and when I skip their commercials… but they don’t know whether my TV is turned off when it it tuned to this channel or any other.
Yeah, wonder how many street people they had to interview to find that one woman. Let’s see, that could mean that 99.9999954545454545% like it.
