I feel no empathy for him or anyone trying to defend his “virtues”.
I hope Clark Howard sees this news.
The guy founded a business that ‘evaded’ usury laws (with the help of various and nefarious elected officials.) His scheme duped stupid working people (plenty of those around.) So he made a fortune (in ill gotten gains if you want my opinion). When one considers the info, facts, insinuations, attributes, characterizations, and ‘gut’ intuition, the guy was just about as dumb and stupid as the people from whom he fleeced money.
The guy exhibited a total lack of control in handling his huge financial success. A syndrome typical of lottery winners. There are a couple of old sayings that come to mind here, “A fool and his money are soon parted.” and “Easy come, easy go.”
