Well, well, well

Let the show begin…

http://p.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/oct/3/shots-fired-us-capitol-building-lockdown/

This video captures part of today’s excitement. It is obvious quickly it is not some random person with a cell phone – it is a camera with mechanical zoom – the video carries a watermark of al Hurra – until today, I had not heard of them.

They are a US Government propoganda agency that covers Congress and creates Arabic language news. They appeared to be covering one protestor upset with the government shutdown – the police in the video fire at the car after they initially hesitate… The car speeds off (high speed chase in DC is apparently 25 mph)

The reports so far say the woman of unstated ethnic or religious background was carrying no ID and no weapon. The car was leased out of state. It’s blurry, but the license plate looks like it is from Illinois.

I’m sure it was probably just another isolated incident.

My bad – the plates are from Connecticut – I knew they looked familiar.

  2. That’s a really nice car, too. I couldn’t help but notice how heavily CNN was relying on its CNN Spanish correspondents during the coverage. There must be a much heavier Hispanic DC presence than I have long believed. That’s coupled with the news this week that WTNT radio is going to a Mexican format on 12/1, displacing the Dr. K Show, one of the more amusing things left on terrestrial radio.

    • True. Somalis are a HUGE part of Twin Cities culture, probably much more so than when I lived there a decade ago. By that time, they had taken over driving most of the cabs and city buses and were the majority of the employees at the MSP Airport. I was a manager at a fast food restaurant in Saint Paul and we hired a few but had trouble with all of them and none of them lasted very long. The Hmong, also a large population, were always much nicer and easier to deal with.

Washinton post is IDing the woman as Miriam Carey, 34 of Stamford CT

    • Art Stone says:

She is what I wasn’t brave enough to predict – a black woman.

“U.S. Capitol Police Chief Kim Dine said the incident is believed to be an isolated act unrelated to terrorism.”

    • Yup. Seems to be just a legitimate nut. Nothing to see here.

A conspiracy theory I just heard on the radio? It’s Obama’s love child, and she was taking the kid to meet dad. I don’t know that I agree…but I don’t disagree. I’m not prepared to rule anything out at the moment.

      • Art Stone says:

It is odd that she had her child in the back seat.

The “ramming”of the White House perimeter doesn’t seem quite right. She didn’t hit anything hard enough to damage her car.

My guess is she was watching GPS that didn’t know the street had been closed and plowed into the pole. Maybe she was taking Ambien and sleep driving.

Then with 5 police pointing guns at her, she decided to play grand theft auto. The miracle is none of those initial shots hit any civilians. Shooting at a moving car while you’re running on foot seems inappropriate, but I’m not a gun or police tactics expert

Michelle is the father, according to Before Its News – Michelle iz a dude. Duuuude. Its actually a funny story with pictures of her ‘package’ and comparing her with normal females. By normal I mean to suggest that most of what lives in DC seem to be clip hared hefty gals who loves thems some softball. Underhand.

  4. Art Stone says:

The biggest inconsistency – if she “tried to ram the whitehouse gates”, why is there no front end damage on the car? That must be one well built car.

  5. Art Stone says:

This video shows about another 5 seconds before the other one starts

    http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dL1kItJ7KBA

They chopped out the seconds where the cameraman is adjusting the lens.

What a coincidence they just happened to have video rolling at the exact moment the police box her in.

I want proof she is dead. Trust nobody on anything.

Well, it was a Lexus they say. She was a black woman and one cannot imagine what she was doing or thinking. I didn’t see any car damage, just officers hesitating to shoot holes in a woman. I suspect there will be a search for her Tea Party roots.

  8. WesternMA says:

Well…that didn’t take long. Sheila Jackson Lee is blaming the shutdown for driving the “poor” to ram DC barricades. This “poor” woman was driving a Lexus. How many dental hygienists drive a Lexus? (Yeah, I know, that’s racist)

Speaking about the mentally unstable and just when everyone thought it was only about the money, get a load of what Obama is doing for the military.

“In a stunning development, some military priests are facing arrest if they celebrate mass or practice their faith on military bases during the federal government shutdown.”

Remember Ben Carson’s remarks toward al-Obama? Well, al-Obama did not forget.

“IRS audits are threatening Americans’ constitutional rights to freedom of speech, prospective presidential candidate Ben Carson claims.

Carson, the former head of neuroseurgery at Johns Hopkins Medical Center, made his remarks after revealing he had received his first audit after his highly publicized criticism of government policies in front of President Barack Obama.”

Apparently things are starting to heat-up as “House Republicans introduced a bill last week that would halt the IRS’ power to scrutinize nonprofit political groups until Congress completes its own investigation of the reported targeting of conservative organizations.

“The bill, sponsored by Louisiana Rep. John Fleming, comes in response to the Internal Revenue Service targeting of tea party and other conservative group applications for tax exempt status with a little more examination than other applicants apparently received, according to numerous reports.”
