While I was away, I got a piece of mail offering me the free NPS prescription savings card. It feels like something fishy, although I haven’t found the hook yet. I’m guessing it was a result of downloading the Walgreen app, but that’s only a guess.
I went to their web site to look around, and was greeted by celebrity endorser Ed McMahon telling me how much money he is saving on his drugs. Ed McMahon died in June 2009 under very sad circumstances. Maybe he needed more drugs.

The idea is that when you use the card, the information of what you bought is sold to drug companies along with your address information.
I am not familiar with the program but this one from Walgreens directly is legitimate and if you need only one prescription per year, it will probably save you money. If you need medications regularly, it will save you big bucks especially if you use their mail order pharmacy and get a 90 day supply.

I am unsure whether the DEA supplies patient information to the drug companies. They definitely do supply provider information to the drug companies – that is why the docs seldom write a script for a generic medication – they would lose their invitation an expense paid winter seminar on the drug in Florida if they were not one of the top proscribes…. probably lose some free lunches too from the pharma sales people that make more than them.
Check the generic prices.. and the guarantee – it’s a n0-brainer

But I can’t get a 10% discount on my outdated B&W film processing!
At least you can think back on all the crap you learned in high school…. everything looks WORSE in black and white. 😉
Since my drug expenses for 2013 have been $0.00, I’ll hang on to my $20 for now
You can sign up minutes on line minutes before you need your first prescription filled.
