WILD-AM is the “urban” station in Boston, owned by Radio One – the country’s largest racially segregated station owner.
The news hit last week that WILD-AM was changing to a news/talk format, but the accounts that I read left out an important detail. For a long time, WILD has not had a functioning web site and doesn’t stream. The logical inference would have been that WILD was picking up Radio One’s lineup – Al Sharpton, Warren Bellentine, Bev Smith, etc….
The detail is that the “News/Talk” coming to WILD is China Radio International, the official government propaganda service of the Chinese Communist People’s Revolutionary Army. It’s an Engrish language service with American music mingled in to soften the propaganda – it’s not a Chinese service for Chinese Americans. It’s roughly the same as Voice of America or Radio Free Europe.
I wonder if Al Sharpton has any problems with that.
NorthEast Radio Watch also speculates that CRI is about to launch on an AM station in Philadelphia as well.

Like the Internet video service “RT”, China is adding to the influence of Communists here in this country. They have just joined the Hollywood movie industry in the fight for the soul of America.
A number of my “poll” questions dance around the question of… Once all the newspapers and traditional new sources are dead, where will we get our news?
As much as I dislike their bias, the NY Times is one of the few non government American entities that still is gathering original news. My concerns about Fox/News Corp’s global ambitions continue to grow. The Wall Street Journal (owned by NewsCorp) seems to be working on filling the void, but there are entire areas of the news I expect them to ignore.
