Get yer Geraldo coffee mugs and t-shirts right here

Press Release

A “penny stock” putting out a press release that says Geraldo has given them merchandising rights. Nothing fishy about that, not at all. The stock remains at 8/10ths of a cent per share. Today saw a trading surge of 300,000 shares on the pink sheets.

($2,400)

It’s not too late to be a sucker! Step right up.

There has to be a few real ‘low fee’ brokers out there just waiting for the clients to call. Maybe they are counting on all the interns, secretaries and the others Geraldo has met in a broom closet at work to buy the mugs and tee-shirts. I mean you did say ‘suckers’ didn’t ya?

Later in the day, someone bought another $50 in stock

Throw-away money, chump change, just someone wanting to brag at dinner about buying over 6,000 stocks. Wonder what the total brokerage fee was? And, if it was more than the cost of the stocks?

      • Art Stone says:

I believe in pink sheet stocks, the purchase price is the brokerage fee, if you get my drift.

Like buying “rare” gold coins, the surprise hits only when you decide you want to sell.

To be a little more clear – one of the listing requirements for a real stock is that there be a minimum number of market makers that post continuous bid/offer quotes and compete with each other. The pink sheets typically have one seller and no buyers. When there is enough cash in the till, they announce the end of the story (oh, the oil well was dry, the contract with the government to launch weather balloons wasn’t approved, or whatever the story they made doesn’t work out), they change the name, pass on the sucker list to the next make believe company with the next amazing idea. Repeat and rinse. Pump and dump.
