Patrick Cannon was only elected mayor of Charlotte last November. He defeated an evil white Republican by about 53-47%, with support from the same types of people who elected Barack Obama.
The FBI has been investigating Cannon since 2010 when he was on city council. Based on a detail in the story, I’m going to guess he owned a car parking lot, which are a great way to gather unreported cash income. But the corruption charge filed today was based on him demanding cash for pushing through a zoning change.
It will be interesting to see what happens now. Dick’s sporting goods had a large supply of shotguns and rifles in stock, just in case.
The mayor has resigned. He originally got the job replacing the prior mayor who is now running the Department of Transportation, who of course wrote the checks to build the LRV. The recently departed mayor apparently was a radio host… Need to look into that – I bet he knows Mignon Clyburn
I don’t know the process for selecting a new mayor. The mayor pro tem is another black man with his hands on the planning and zoning and budget process
Charlotte of course was subject to the Voting Rights Act. In the “good old days” when the South was run by White racist Democrats, city elections would be at large. Charlotte today is roughly 50% White, 30% Black and the rest Hispanic, Asian and assorted others. In at large elections, if people vote solely by skin color, you wind up with an all white city council.
The Voting Rights Act forces the city to have districts that are elected by only a portion of the city, so that the bribes and extortion are spread more evenly. Then a portion of the council, but less than a majority, can still be elected by the entire city.

Consider for a moment the idea of sanctions being put on Russia by al-Obama over the Ukraine situation, and there have been other seemingly ‘dumbarse’ moves by al-Obama and Company. Syria? Consider this, could there have been a more clear, or more divisive method to solidify the resolve of the BRICSA nations to form an alternative monetary, currency clearing system for trade between nations? Or, to form an alternative internet backbone to keep the prying ears of the NSA from eavesdropping on the monetary system in Asia and Europe? And, why are the Western Banksters suppressing the price of precious metals? Remember that EVERY Central Bank in the west participated in a 5 year spree of selling megatons of their gold at prices that averaged less than $260/ounce.

City Council has 4 “at large” seats and 7 districts. The council has 7 Democrats and 2 Republicans. This article confirms my suspicion / Observation that the large number of northern urban immigrants is deliberate political strategy at a national level
I think Rush took a call (3rd hour) from someone who was talking about certain strategies of the Criminally Insane Regime in the upcoming 2014 elections. This is pretty muddled – “long time radio host and parking lot entrepreneur” Cannon worked at WOSF-FM (105.3) which is licensed to Gaffney, SC. Until 2012, the station was LMA’ed to someone doing Mexican Accordian music, then ESPN Deportes. In 2012, it switched to R&B, just in time for the elections.
Contrary to what Wikipedia says, the station is not owned by Kathy Hughes’s Radio One the so-called black radio network that runs Black Planet. The license is held by the estate of a dead man. It’s logical it is just another LMA. I’ll see if I can dig up more info – maybe he worked on an AM station or something before that.
Ah, now I get it – 105.3 was added as a simulcast to WPZS-FM. Radio One does own that station in Harrisburg, which is on the North Side of Charlotte – where much of the Communisty is located.

The city council are quite a bunch. One is the retired city manager (no conflict of interest there!) another is 78 year old woman from New York City. A “fundraiser” for the all-black university in town.. . A retired banker who likes putting deals together… A couple Democratic Party leaders that are members of the shadow government that actually run things outside the view of open meeting laws… One was in the bicycle business in Seattle.
It’s probably worth pointing out the 2012 Democratic National Convention was in Charlotte. That might also explain why the city is becoming a magnet for people with no roots here.

The DNC choose Charlotte because, because, because…..mmmmm, nothing against the city of Charlotte, but I’m scratching my head wondering just what it was about Charlotte that caused the DNC to choose that city to host its convention? Wasn’t because of da Vanderbilts, that’s in Asheville. Could’da been the weather???… Dangit, I’m stumped for an answer.

Just a little anecdote – the food distributor I was working for wound up with a whole bunch of unsold raw hamburger meat they had ordered for the Convention. The manager of the Distribution center was blaming the computer system I was supporting. There is a surprise.

So, Patrick D. Cannon is still listed as da ‘Mayor’, but since he has resigned there should be some mention of the fact the position is open. Anyways, they definitely need a webmaster who is not a) lazy, b) knows something about websites, c) has little bit of creativity.
Lastly, maybe the fact he got busted so quickly means the active investigation prior to the election could mean the former mayor does have political enemies in high places, i.e., perhaps Mayor Pro Tem, Michael Barnes was feeding the FBI inside knowledge.

He’s a lawyer and supposedly they are good buddies. It appears he gets to be mayor now. If he isn’t working with the FBI, he’s gonna be talking with them soon.
My original theory was it might have started when Pat McCrory was mayor and started hearing things about him from others. I’m pretty sure Pat is still highly ethical.
The third theory is Cannon was shaking down people who had enough of it.
By the way, Vi Lyles is “black” or at least milking the benefits of claiming it. Like Cathy Hughes, the older she gets, the more white her skin becomes
Republican Governor and former Charlotte Mayor Pat McCrory and his brother mentored Mr Cannon since he was 13 years old (which would be 1980ish) and know him very well. They talked on the phone just before Cannon went to pick up his suitcase of loot. The fact the newspaper knows that means the FBI told them, which means the FBI probably had Cannon’s phone tapped (and/or McCrory’s). I think Eric Holder’s motives just got much clearer.

Only one person is actively seeking the job. – Jennifer Roberts. “She” is the winner of the Maya Angelou award, if that gives any hints of her politics. She has been a international loan officer at First Union Bank and served on the Mexican desk at the US State Department.
