State Senator Yee was busted for a variety of things, including gun smuggling. Senator Yee is an advocate of gun control.
The author of the story describes that as ironic. I describe that as naive. Did Al Capone oppose prohibition?
There are a number of important lessons to be learned from this story. But, there is one really important detail (fact) to understand, and that is, what is the political affiliation of State Sen. Leland Yee? Oh, he is a Democrat in the ultra-liberal city of San Francisco, but that is not disclosed in most of the news stories covering this crime.
So, why is the political affiliation of Democrat State Sen. Leland Yee, who is a Democrat, being hidden, or even redacted from these stories?
Or that he is a “former” gang leader, aka “community organizer.
More telling will be if any Republican makes a big deal about this, or whether pointing out that vicious Chinese gangs are involved in extortion, gun running, prostitution, murder, property theft, and iillegal immigration in Chinatowns around the United States is bad politics. If you point that out, Asian immigrants will think you’re a racist and not vote for you. After all, this was an isolated incident.
I do like why they our hypocrisy – a politician against your second amendment rights making money from running guns is a lot like the politician against rights for homosexuals getting involved in homosexual activity.
BTW- It seems that the Malaysian Airlines pilot was not so much in favor of sodomy as he was against someone falsely charged with sodomy crimes. Evidently that something that the police frame people with there just as they frame people with drug possession here. Just your word against the public servant.
My sense was the entire charge of sodomy was just an excuse to jail a political opponent. We all know that under Islamic law, homosexual activity is prohibited, and as a result doesn’t exist in Islamic countries. Neither does alcohol or having sex with sheep.

WOW!! You mean politicians are hypocrites??!!! An anti-gun State Senator running guns?! What’s next? DEA agents selling drugs? Secret Service agents partying on duty?
Say it ain’t so! – Only thing I wanna know, was he part of this Fast & Furious fiasco?? The whole Obama administration is corrupt, starting w/ Holder himself!!
