The amazing thing is folks are able to tune that noise out after some time.
Or the sound of jumbo jets taking off. Every once in a while I would hear an exceptionally loud takeoff banking literally right over our building, probably only 1000 feet above the roof of the 15 story building. Invariably I would do a “what was that?” Then remember I lived at the end of a runway.
