I’m about to fall asleep, so not the time to be “fixing” things, but the stats are really messed up.
Since removing the player links, the click through to stations is off about 90%. It doesn’t mean people aren’t coming here, just they are going right to the radio station, probably especially true of people who have been using bookmarks
Perhaps if the most popular links were kept current then one could extrapolate that data into a useful stat?
Maybe Katherine Sibelius has better statistics. 🙂
okay, problem cleared up 🙂
The script that figures out the “Who is up, who is down” had never been modified to include the “imputed” counts where you click on a radio station without clicking on the program, and it looks to see what program is currently on the station (if any) and then credits that show. It’s imprecise – but now is the only way things are counted (except for people who might have bookmarked the actual player buttons or using saved copies of pages).
The good news is it turns out that over the past month, listen counts were only down by 30%, not 90%
That is still very imprecise. I used the guide regularly but click thorough only once per month or so if I find I have an issue with my own player.
Bottom line, many (most?) site users are not being counted.
