The man who ended tenure for California’s teachers

Based on the headline, I expected an “evil Republican Koch Brothers neocon rich people want to boil children and eat them” AP story written by the White House Press Office

Seattle Times story

The successful lawsuit to throw out tenure for teachers on the basis it causes schools for minority students to be filled with incompetent teachers – was supported by Obama’s Education Secretary. This guy is a silicon valley entrepreneur who sent his own children to public school even though he could afford private schools. David Welch also sits on the Board of Directors of National Resources Defense Council, a far left environmental activist group.

Teacher’s unions are a bad thing.

Still no government employees fired over that the VA.

Still no government employees fired over the IRS scandal

Still no government employees fired over 9/11.

Can’t be good for the country.

  2. We should have listened to FDR when he said public sector unions were a bad idea.

Here’s a Dream, or a Nightmare depending on which way you look at things, but let’s imagine for a moment that the next POTUS decides to open up a can of worms after their inauguration. One of the things that could be done is to issue a Presidential Directive that finds the unions did not have the legal authority to simply ignore the law when they accepted the last POTUS’s ‘waiver’ that allowed the union to not obey the Affordable Care Act law, and then just confiscate the unions from their bank accounts, which is fully within the legal limits of the health care law.

My working theory is the teachers are pushing back hard on Common Core. This ruling in part may “federalize” school teacher unions even more

My second theory is this has something to do with the Hillary thing in 2016. This guy might be an attractive candidate in 2016. He has the environmental and “doing it for the kids” part in place, but he’s also a successful businessman for the Chamber of Commerce crowd

If memory serves, (brown shirts & various St. Petersburg / Moscow people’s committees, the French Revolution) typically at some point the authoritaian / revolutionary eats it’s own. The fuel needed to fire the ‘winds of change’ need constant tending.
