Today was the Nielsen radio PPM ratings from the top markets. While Salem radio does not participate, and we cannot see their ratings – most of the rest of the commercial stations do subscribe.
New York City continues to be the bellwether. While the city is full of liberals, it is also the center of American capitalism – although the new mayor and the governor of New York are working very hard to change that.

Conservatives are not going to win anything in 2016 with 2% of the population listening to angry screeds about Betsy Ross and Sandra Fluke’s birth control.
Conversely, if Conservatives do not win anything in 2016 with only 2% of the population listening to Conservative talk radio then who’s to blame if they lose?
Art, can you comment on the NC libertarian pizza delivery guy who could help keep the Senate in Harry Reid’s hands? Will libertarians help elect another Dem just as they did in the VA governor’s race?
It’s lose lose – I have no answer to this. Third parties and/or tea party candidates who want to fight about abortion and prayer in public schools will cause Democrats to win. Mainstream Republicans want basically the same thing as mainstream Democrats – power and control. Rand Paul doesn’t have a chance in hell of changing the government, no matter how much I agree with him.
Allow me to butt in here.
Go to Sean Haugh’s Facebook page and watch a couple of the videos he has uploaded. Then, if you are the R candidate just produce a compilation of them dealing with issues such as immigration, so on and so forth, and be sure to get a nice long shot of Sean’s quirky smirk while running a trailer of his own words about, “I believe in open borders, who ever wants to come here should be allowed to enter”.
Good suggestion, Nidster. Open borders is probably not the best campaign plank to espouse at the moment.
Rush got brave enough to mention today what I’ve suspected about this obviously orchestrated migration of children. The Roman Catholic Church has a decades old advocacy position on this – they call it the “sanctuary movement” – to hide and protect illegal immigrants from the federal government, in order to fill up the empty churches abandoned by their traditional congregations.
Add to this that in many states, Catholic social services works hand in glove with the socialist welfare state – being paid to provide services and run hospitals for the poor. In Michigan, for a a while the state social services department was run by a nun. She eventually resigned because what was going on was becoming too blatant.
As one of my old poll questions points out, 51% of Americans identify themselves as Protestant Christians – yet the Supreme Court has six Roman Catholics and three people with Jewish heritage. We can’t handle the truth. We are not even permitted to ask the questions
Everything old is new again

If it isn’t already in the works, Hollywood needs to do a remake of the Sound of Music, except set in Guatemala with Americans as the SS and Catholic nuns hiding the children. This conditioning didn’t start last month.
Rush may be coming to an inescapable conclusion. Perhaps he ought to be forthright and abandon his well mannered, gentlemanlike treatment of those who are against us.
Talk to Dinesh about the movie re-make. On the other hand it’s pertinent to mention al-Obama is attending a Robert Rodriguez hosted fundraiser ($5 k $32.4k per person.) Just my speculation, but “birds of a feather…”.
Rodriguez is a pro-illegal immigration douche-bag, and movie maker that portrays decapitations and massive bloodletting as entertainment. Stuff depraved, twisted, perverse hominoids find entertaining. Perhaps a certain hominoid species has existed alongside Homo sapiens sapiens since ancient times, and we are their prey.
So, your idea of a ‘re-make’ of Sound of Music set in the highlands of Mesoamerica seems appropriate and has merit. Of course everyone knows I have long maintained those smarty-pants-Germans took refuge in diverse places after the Great World War Redux. In particular the Americas became fertile ground.
In Baltimore, there was an almost 2 point shift from WCBM-AM to WBAL-AM. WCBM carries Rush, Hannity, Levin and Savage. WCBM (owned by Hearst) is entirely local news and talk – except for CBS’s Jon Grayson overnight (midnight to 6 AM are not included in the average for the station)
Art, I think your third reference to WCBM is meant to be WBAL.
I think you’re right
Outside of the car, I don’t listen to over the air radio anymore. Everything is streamed or, as in the case of John Batchelor, mostly podcast. I pay for Rush and would pay for Batchelor but no one else (for a year). The recurring billing is a pain.
HPaws, consider the free radiosure.com – it installs on your PC and will make recordings of your streams that you can transfer to your phone and listen as podcasts as you drive.
Even Jim Bohannon is selling subscriptions.
Howie Carr continues to lay the foundation for his post radio future. His new distributor is a purveyor of podcasts mostly. The “talent” are all figuring it out – get the web site and brand and archives owned by you. When you and radio part ways, the audience already knows where to find you.
