Zombie Watch – WTOW-AM

Located in bucolic Washington NC, WTOW is a class D (small) AM station (500 watts) that was (is?) a black gospel radio station.   This is the one and only driveway to the transmitter

The station used to have a Facebook page that ends in 2012 abruptly.

The ownership report in 2013 was filed by someone from the Minority Voice Reporter in Greenville NC.   It was not signed by the owner of record, Mr Wiilam [sic] T Booth SR of Washington NC who is the president of the NAACP chapter in Washington NC.

Near his riverfront house at the end of a long private road a couple miles away, there appears to be a satellite dish and a peculiar pole / tower – note the long shadow on the ground

The address is also the location where his son runs a Diesel engine flushing service right next to the river.

So – Zombie or not zombie?

More on the Booth Bleeder. He must have called one of those patent protection companies you hear on radio ads

    Well look here 😉

The FCC fined James Rouse $13,000 – the licensee, but not the owner(?) for failing to renew the station license in 2003, but continuing to operate the station for 3 years after the FCC told him to turn the transmitter off. 400 year old slaves don’t like being told what to do.
