Now you can accurately sort the “Radio Stations Near Me” by signal strength, and it should work. Click on the blue Signal link in the header.

Some browsers on Desktops will guess where you are, mobile devices will tell exactly (with yout consent). If you refuse to disclose your location, that’s a one time choice. You won’t be asked again – forcing you to search through the browser settings to change your mind.

Unless you’re standing right next to the transmitter, the dBm will be less than 0.00 – the more negative the number, the weaker the signal. Down to -60 dBm is a “local” signal that you should be able to hear clearly with no static or interference. A really good radio like a Grundig can hear as weak as -115 dBm.

This list assumes three things – that it is daytime (for AM), that the transmitter is not directional, and that your receiver is not directional (pointing a radio toward the station increases the signal strength of stations in that direction)
