While listening to a station carrying Thom Hartmann, there was a promo that the station (KMAS-AM/FM) is carrying John B Wells from 1-4 AM (Pacific time – 4-7 AM Eastern)
Many of you may remember that John B Wells did the Saturday night Coast to Coast AM show after Ian Punnett left radio in January 2013 due to tinnitus (Ian has also left the local radio show he did with his wife)
Since parting ways with Premiere, Wells has been developing a paid subscription podcast called Caravan to Midnight

Art Bell and John B Wells are on the same page how George Noory has destroyed Coast to Coast AM.
KMAS is a peculiar station – there are not many that carry Thom Hartmann and Alex Jones, then overnight last night you could have heard Jerome Corsi and Neocon David Horowitz. (He actually is a real neocon – a former Marxist who realized he was playing on the wrong team)
KYAH-AM in Utah also streams the show, but during the day – at 4-7 PM ET
The show is never live – it is a recorded podcast
Confirmed this station carries the show on its stream
Since you mentioned Art and C2C, have you heard that Art says he has a new show coming?

I have! He’s serving out his two year Sirius XM non-compete. He quit that job because Sirius/XM didn’t let him stream content for free – they called his bluff and immediately replaced him with Coast to Coast.
How many time has Art quit so far? I lost count. His daughter must be almost old enough to get married. That could get interesting.
I think I mentioned in another thread that Talk Radio Network was his original syndicator. Roy Masters sold the network to Premiere who immediately spit it out and only kept Art Bell.
Generally speaking, Art is good at what he does, but you are right, this must be at least his sixth or so “comeback”.
I will be curious to see what his new deal is, and how widely this show will be available.
It’s interesting you mention Art Bell / John Wells… and Noory’s demolition of C2C.
Last weekend, I managed to catch ‘Somewhere in Time’ (relishing the good ol’ days).
During that particular re-broadcast, Art was hinting that Noory was going to take the reigns… Then, a caller phoned in and opined that Noory was really not very good and questioned Art’s choice. Art replied with a statement to the effect that: “George just ‘gets it’, he understands what the show is about.” The caller reiterated his doubts about Noory.
Thus, from the beginning, many avid listeners knew Noory was the ‘wrong’ choice.
So… was Noory shoe-horned into the job by ‘corporate’ or did Art really not see it?
Listening to the Somewhere in time shows makes the contrast so clear. Others have pointed out the same issue although my motives are different. Noory will ask an extremely vague open ended question like “so how did you get interested in…” and then not hear Noory’s voice for the next 15 minutes. Since I’m listening to specifically hear Noory to make sure the show isn’t John Grayson or Kate Delaney, letting the guest do a monologue for 15 minutes without any challenge or steering the interview wastes a lot of my time.
I wasn’t a big Art Bell fan, in fact I would say I opposed the way his show was pushing aside the few remaining overnight local talk shows – but midnight to 6 am plays no role in the Arbitron/Neilsen ratings, so making an overnight live show that pays its own costs is a challenge – mostly you hope that because the clock radio was turned to your station, it will still be on the station when the clock radio goes off boosting the morning ratings – however only 8% of Americans now listen to a clock radio when they wake up. That isn’t ever going back to the way things used to be.
Noory asks some of the dumbest questions and thoughtless comments of any host and his mouth noises trying to imitate Art really bugs lots of listeners.
