In the 1960s, there were a lot of people who remembered him from the days when he drove around with pressure cookers in his car convincing early franchisees that he had found a better way.
Once he sold out to the big corporations, they used smaller chickens, got rid of the labor intensive pressure cookers and cheapened the ingredients and took the word fried out of the name. I worked at one in high school it cured me of eating fried chicken.
