The return of Art Bell Monday night / Tuesday morning

The time is at hand. I don’t think anything has changed other than someone trying to knock Art Bell off of Facebook…

To recap:

– the show will be live Monday-Friday, 9 PM-Midnight Pacific (mid-3AM ET – Tue-Sat)
– around 20 affiliates will carry the show live, but are not allowed to stream
– the only other way to listen is to pay $5 a month for a membership

Sunday night, there will be a two hour test show to make sure the technical issues are cleared up

I’ve created a pseudo station for the show named ArtBell

    I feel the tension building

Stream is up and running – stay tuned!

Art Bell has bid me Good Morning!

The first hour is in the can – pretty much non-stop callers

Most are calling via Skype, and there is no discernible lag, which is very interesting. I’m wondering if telos has some magic digital editing that removes those awkward gaps

Art has his first technical issues…

Art called it a day after about 2 1/2 hours, unable to keep a working internet connection. He described it as a “microwave” circuit from Las Vegas to Pahrump. Those are very susceptible to rain, especially over long distance. He needs a fiber connection, or to do the show from Vegas.

The good news is if he gives up again, he won’t have a non-compete to worry about

The $5 per month is for the replay/podcast. The replay won’t have any bumper music. You can listen to the live stream for FREE through Tunein Radio.

    • Art Stone says:

It may not be intentional, but 7 of the affiliates are also streaming the show live

    • Art Stone says:

There are two streaming links on the Dark Matters web site, which is where I direct people. It isn’t necessary to use Tunein. Thank you for your question.

Thanks for that. I will check it out. I don’t like paying for streams, especially in advance. My biggest issue with this business model is that the business generally requires a credit card and will keep billing you until you will opt out, but there is no way to opt out at a specific date/time in the future.
