Pastor Randy Mitchell is a Baptist (shocking!). I bet he doesn’t have a million Facebook likes.

Ooh, he does have a Facebook page – 29 likes!
His church only plays Real Godly Hymns, not that Jesus loves me crap. WSIC AM/FM carries 15 minutes a day of this pastor at 6 PM, followed by 45 minutes of Rick and Bubba.
WSIC is still locally owned – it was the radio station I listened to in high school.
Flashback to 2009 – when I made almost the same point

And there is a church locally that says only hymns sung a capella are godly. Instruments are the work of the devil. It’s not a Baptist church. I think something fundamentalist. I wonder if that’s because they can’t afford instruments?
Rick and Bubba – now they’re Godly 🙂
To be fair, I think he has a point. I prefer the old school hymns myself. Our pastor showed a clip from a Hillsong concert last week. It looked like it could have come from any American Idol contestant I never heard of, without the overt sexuality.
It is getting harder and harder to separate the sacred from the profane.
I know, I know, we gotta “be with the times” to “reach the youth” or whatever.
But as Ringo Starr once said, “If the person I’m being is not myself, then the person they’re loving is not me.”
P.S. I must confess though, Stryper rules. 🙂
Just read the 2009 post. LOVED IT!!! Agree 100%
