Email restored

WordPress (the software this blog uses) sends people email for a variety of reasons – the most important of which is to validate new registrations. You can also request to be notified if someone replies to your comments.

A while back Google informed me that my email account may have been compromised, so I changed to a much more secure password. Unfortunately, I forgot to change the password inside WordPress, so any attempts it made to send email were failing, probably with no warning.

So if you tried to register for the blog (not the website itself) and think you were being ignored, that is why!

WordPress itself also recently made account creation more secure by not allowing users to choose their own passwords – people will often use the same password for everything – bad idea!

So if you wanted to help blow up the web site, give it another try 😉
