China stock market down 5.49%

Thanksgiving can be a dangerous day for stocks. The 4th Thursday of November is a holiday only in the United States – the stock markets are open in the rest of the world. Operating without the liquidity of the big US investment banks, hedge funds and private equity capital, markets can turn volatile – stop loss orders can kick in and accelerate a decline.

Europe’s stock markets seem calm, so this doesn’t seem to be another global panic. People who know about these things say the Chinese economic growth is exaggerated by fake data and government meddling, like building large numbers of empty apartment building where there is no need for housing.

Hmmmmm. you know, maybe something is amiss. The ‘Black lives matter’ and ‘Occupy/crap on your car bunch’ have shut down the ‘Magnificent Mile’ in Chicago .
so maybe they know Christmas season sales will be down?

    who knew ?

Possibly, although I don’t think much sold on the Miracle Mile comes from China

The loser will be sales tax revenue for Chicago, which has serious financial problems.

The issue in China is the government going after the brokers, probably with the intent of killing the messenger. You might remember when their market fell in the summer, the government outlawed the owners of stock from selling. Private Ownership is not exactly a Communist concept, and increasingltpy not an Anerican one.
