Freedom of Association

Apparently I’m not the only person wondering who rented the conference center today where the mass shooting occurred.

The description of the gathering is changing
    – a meeting by an outside group
    – a Christmas party for county employees
    – a holiday party for employees of the County Health DepRtment
    – a holiday party (festivus?) for the Environmental Health Department

“Environmental Health” doesn’t appear to be much broader than your typical health department. They do have responsibility for Swimming Pool inspections. You may have heard California has a drought problem. I sense twinge of a motive.

The workers are so used to mass shooting drills they thought it was just another drill.

    Little Boy: Wolf!
    Villagers: Cut it out.
Little Boy: No really! There really is a wolf this time!
Villagers: Your mom is calling you, go home
    Little Boy: Wolf! (Running away)

    Villagers: WOLF!!!
    Wolf: Thanks for lunch!

So let’s use the radio stations near San Bernardino and see how local radio is covering the national story

    KCAL-FM – Rock – computer playing music
KFNY-FM – iHeart – talk – Riverside – live coverage – talking to a spook from Homeland Security about how unfortunate the police don’t have military powers – audio is Fox News coverage, not local
KOLA-FM – computer playing classic hits
KUCR-FM – University of California *LIVE*
DJ fretting that right wing extremists events are disrupting his music two weeks in a row

News conference reported there was a dispute at the Health Dept meeting prior to the attack.

Syed Farook was a food inspector for the health department. Sorry for those hoping for a right wing Christian wanting to murder helpless handicapped adults.

Is it too early yet to ask if this was a gun free zone? Is he a member of SEIU?

“His older brother was in the military”

Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner.

Syed started wearing religious Muslim garb and growing a beard about two years ago.

Dead woman shooter was Tayyeep Bin Ardogan from Qatar, no relation to Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of Turkey, at least not that I know of

Muslims, public gatherings, guns and death. I recognize this recipe – workplace violence!

      War on Christmas!

Getting way too personal (why stop now?), the issue of “holiday parties” was a major part of my reason for ending my work at the Chicago Board of Trade in Chicago. The focus of most of the “holiday” gathering was a group of volunteers singing “holiday” songs. It went on about 20 minutes too long.

The “conductor” was an Indian guy. The music was coming from a midi keyboard I think – there was no human playing a musical instrument. It was essentially group karaoke. There was no harmonizing, no solos by real singers – and the longer it droned on, the more it became clear that the music had been filtered by “play no Christian music”. Despite not being Christian, many Christian songs are historically significant and beautiful music. To fence off the Christ-Mass music of the Holy-Days and put a (probably) Hindu in charge of the music was way beyond my tolerance level.

Definitely workplace violence caused by climate change. Or…maybe as Comrade Bernard Eliavich Sanders claims, this violence is caused by unemployment and poverty among followers of the religion of peace.

I would love to have a debate with some Muslim Theological representative. The two points of note:
      1) Islam is not a religion (I would stipulate it is a “cult”)
      2) Islam has nothing to do with peace as the credo points to elimination of any non-believers.

      Might be interesting.

Here is a good quote from the Quran to start with

“Thou shalt surely smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and all that is therein, and the cattle thereof, with the edge of the sword. And thou shalt gather all the spoil of it into the midst of the street thereof, and shalt burn with fire the city, and all the spoil thereof every whit, in the name of Allah: and it shall be an heap for ever; it shall not be built again.”

One picture I saw this morning showed a black woman with large hoop earrings lying on the ground. She was probably one of the injured, but hard to tell from the pictures.

In these types of events, the media love to create a montage of all the innocent victims. It would be interesting to see that to look for any patterns of gender or ethnic identity. #teamstergovernmentemployeelivesmatter

It’s pretty clear this was thoroughly planned out. If there was any kind of “argument”, it was clearly a pretext.

      Time to outlaw GoPro cameras.
