One of the top advertisers on radio is a company that replaces auto glass. It’s a mystery why this is and I don’t like unresolved mysteries. Just how big is the auto glass replacement business and why advertise on radio?
I’ve heard vague stories that the process involves quickly replacing the glass and not getting insurance company approval first and then being stuck with a bill after the insurance company turns down the claim, but that doesn’t sound like enough to explain this.
Any ideas?
Safelight repair, Safelight replace!
one of the most annoying jingles on radio, but obviously it has stuck in my brain, and probably millions of others.
It is funny how those commercials always emphasize how insurance almost aways pays…
Did you think it odd that I didn’t mention any specific company?
Yeah, you probably didn’t want to give them any free advertising. Sorry bout that.
Close – now my hands are tied in terms of saying anything more about the subject (assuming that company is one I had in mind). Corporations hire companies to search the Internet for people talking about the companies and then may try to end (or drown out) an online discussion of the merits of their products.
makes sense, and now I’m more the wiser.
Does not make sense to me either. FIRST thing you do is call the insurance company and THEY will arrange to have it replaced with the auto glass company of THEIR choice. That is, if you HAVE coverage.
