In a conversation earlier today, I asked an acquaintance what would happen if Donald Trump gave up the combover and/or supplemental hair and came out with his head shiny. She quickly agreed that if he did that, his poll ratings would drop 20%. She went on to say that Ted Cruz (who she supports) needs to have plastic surgery to fix his droopy eyelid if he wants to win.
I pointed out that this emphasis on “looks” is exactly how we wound up with President Obama. She agrees with that, but reiterated that the candidate needs to look good.
Very true. I read in a publication many years ago how based on our present “qualifications” for president, Taft, McKinley, and Teddy Roosevelt, would have never been elected. These gentlemen were pretty close to 300 lbs. each.
Sad that we no longer look at integrity, virtue, and honesty in our search for leaders. Obama, the Clintons, and Trump are perfect examples of our present state of affairs.
