On April 1st 2014, a black transgender student at Central Piedmont Community College was approached by a FEMALE security guard after using a female only bathroom. CPCC already has eight gender neutral bathrooms available. CPCC is a downtown community college with no dormitories.
Planet Transgender covered this the same day. This was a planned deliberate provocation.
By April 3rd, the so called “Human Rights” campaign and transgender advocacy groups had fired up the social justice propaganda machinery. GLAAD joined in.
April 4th, Andraya Williams was suspended from CPCC for failing to show an ID to security guards, which Andraya denies. The NY Daily News covered the story. The college suspended her until either she proved she had completed gender reassignment or agreed to use only the gender neutral bathrooms. She refused.
By April 7th, the Charlotte Observer was spearheading the effort to organize protests by public school students. April 9th, the Huffington Post took the ball to transform this into a national movement.
March 2nd, 2015 the City Council voted again 6-5 to reject an LGBT ordinance, even after the transgender bathroom language was removed. The Mayor pro tempore Michael Barnes was one of the four Democratic votes against the LGBT ordinance. Two of the four Democrats voted against the ordinance because the bathroom part was removed and they didn’t want a half way measure.
Barnes decided to run for mayor in 2015 and lost. The new mayor Jennifer Roberts(who you would be forgiven if you assumed is transgender) and the new council member changed the balance of power and they passed the city ordinance asserting city rights beyond those agreed to in Raleigh.
Some people have to much time on their hands. Seriously they are wasting time on this crap. Andra or Andraya needs to grow up , get a ‘real ‘ life and quit causing trouble.
Question: If you want this attention, you dress like the opposite sex that you are, then you try to draw attention to yourself. Is this a type of mental illness ?
Is the whole trans gender just a mental issue? And now the algore-amazing Internet allows them to connect and ‘feed’ on/off each other ?

I guess I don’t comprehend it. Life is hard enough to get by. Then why would a person go out and act stupid, and make it that much complected ?

Glenn Beck is describing this as a cult. I tend to agree with that. In December, I found out my college roommate was “born transgender” – we lived in a two person college dorm room for two years. I have visited her twice since I found out. June 8th is the big snipping day. The silicon boobs are in, the marriage is unwinding. She plans to move to Vegas to be with a fellow transgender person who loves her. The person in Vegas works as a man in a casino and lives as a woman the rest of the time. (S)he is also married to a woman, but her plans to finish the process are vague and no evidence the wife in Vegas is going away. Call me a skeptic.
My suspicion is that at some point in the therapy process, he was put under hypnosis and convinced of things that make no sense – “the proof you were born transgender is that you try too hard to be hyper-masculine”.
The curious wrinkle to all of this is both of us knew Governor Pat McCrory in college.

That will be a huge cost to Universities, business’s, Gov’t agencies.

That was kind of the point – CPCC already had converted / created 8 or nine bathrooms to accommodate the school’s transgender diversity inclusion policy. Even so, Andraya insisted on using a woman’s only bathroom.
If my theory is right, then the security guard also had to be involved and the school itself staged the entire event. TV stations and a prepared statement she is reading didn’t come from nowhere.
I suspect humans have always had these tendencies. Only community morals and common courtesy kept these types from acting out over the years. Now, with gay marriage and the swing of the pendulum to moral equivalence – we have a free platform for these types to act out – and to get their 15 minutes of TV fame.
Part of what is feeding this is the American Medical Association. My “gun nut” friend in Chicago socializes frequently for a lawyer that works for the AMA. The AMA took the position that it would support a legal case of a California prison inmate who wanted the state to pay for the gender reassignment surgery.
The rationale – supported by the AMA – is that without the surgery, there is a higher than normal suicide rate, especially when someone starts the process and decides not to go through with it or is unable to complete the process. Because of that, the surgery is “medically necessary” and insurance (and Medicaid / Medicare) have to be forced to cover it. Female to male reassignment is even more expensive than male to female. Cutting off boobs and doing an addadicktome surgery can cost $150,000

Here is another term you need to learn “non binary transgender”. It means either Male and Female or neither male nor female. It is worth pointing out that transgender has no relationship to being gay (the acronym LGBTQ not withstanding)
