      If you don’t want to click on the link, Professor Klug was one of the authors of this research paper on the mathematics of what happens when a bullet is fired into a human skull. It is linked to from his own web page, so it is his work.

      So Orwellian. Reminds me of one of Hillary’s recent slogans telling us to love Trump’s hate. I heard it on the radio and was confused why she would say that.

      When I saw the sign, I saw she had printed it with no apostrophe. She is not very good at branding. lol

    “Authorities told the Los Angeles Times Thursday that the professor was killed by Mainak Sarkar, a former graduate student who had accused Klug of stealing Sarkar’s computer code and giving it to someone else.”

    Some of the comments yesterday were pointing out how UCLA has very few American students – Mainak Sarkar is from India – a dark skinned white man.

    Authorities have discovered a “kill list” compiled by the shooter and one of the people on the list was a woman from Minnesota who was found dead in Minnesota

    While Mainak Sarkar described himself as a PhD student of Professor Klug, he got his PhD from Caltech in 2003. The professor is only a year older than the shooter. This is a very old grudge, or there is something else we don’t know yet. The other names on the kill list would be big clues. He is believed to have driven his car from Minnesota to LA, as it would be impossible to slip two loaded handguns past TSA screeners

    I wonder how Mainak Sarkar has earned an income since 2003?

    Combine that with him going for a second PhD and having a white American girlfriend and it is a pretty clear narrative. I wouldn’t want to go back to India, either. Now having permanent residence status, his value to an employer as a slave trapped by an H-1B visa goes away.

    His car was found in LA with cans of gasoline in the trunk. The police theory sounds askew. The trip is 1500 miles. A 2003 Nissan Sentra gets 32 mpg highway. That is 46 gallons of gasoline. Current models have a 10 gallon fuel tank. 35 gallons in your trunk is highly improbable. He ditched the car and rode a bus to the campus. Without public transportation, the murder would not have happened. We need to ban bases (for the children, of course)
