WPHR-FM in Florida (formerly WSYR) also changed from Music to News/Talk. It is joining the long line of cookie cutter Clear Channel clones – Beck / Rush / Hannity / Levin / Jason Lewis / Coast to Coast and a 3 hour local morning show.
This station is part of the Aloha Trust – stations that Clear Channel was to sell as soon as practical in order to comply with FCC ownership limits following their “going private” in 2008. Clear Channel has divested very few of these stations, opting instead to spend money on lawyers to work the edges of the FCC rules to avoid complying with their agreement. This station installing the Premiere lineup is a pretty good example.
