It’s gay pride day in Charlotte [not]

*** this was my erroneous post from a week ago for your amusement.
In addition to everything else, I visited Uptown on Monday, thinking it was Sunday. I wondered why Chick-Fil-A was open on “Sunday”, among other things.
—————————————————————–

I was just about to go out my front door wearing my cheerleader outfit, stiletto heels, push up bra, lipstick and multicolor clown hair – but I caught myself just in time. What would my neighbors think?

The local newspaper apparently written in San Francisco declared that a huge crowd of at least 120,000 people would show up. WBTV-TV declared that today “Everyone” will be thinking about HB2. I am certain that is not true. Most rational people are thinking about drinking beer and lighting up a cigar out at their lake house.

Me? I was playing Pokemon and making a trip to Cramerton to check out the 18 hole flying disc course, the Masonic lodge and the town that was once a textile mill company town. I definitely would not want to have lived there “back in the day”. It’s still a pretty creepy place with only a couple roads out of town, and very inexpensive tiny houses mill workers would live in while sending their 8 year old daughters to work in the mill.

The big festival of gayness was from 1-3 PM today. I decided to cruise the area – mainly to check out the parking deck for jury duty on a Sunday without the weekday traffic. I arrived about 2:45 PM, and only saw two indications that anything was going on. The free Park and Ride lot closest to uptown was full and the free streetcar was full. There was one obese pleasant black woman out in the sweltering 95° heat with a small stop sign stopping traffic for the hordes of LGBTQA people who apparently lack the skills to cross a street by themselves. There were no people. She was glad to have me to wave through the intersection.

The three big banks in town are “full in” on gay pride. Just one way LGBTQA is not like the black civil rights movement is openly gay people rarely face employment discimination and tend to have large disposable incomes because of having no children. Employers like workers with no family to be a distraction. I have a theory that excess income is the strongest predictor that a person will choose to be LGBTQA.

Sorry, no pictures.
