Two shot on Pineville Matthews Road

Charlotte is splitting into three distinct communities. Uptown is the high density high rise towers for the affluent childless latte drinking, gay vegetarian, bicycle riding streetcar lovers who don’t want anything to do with North Carolina. The North and West side are the traditionally black parts of town that are increasingly plagued by gangs imported by President Obama in 2012 after the convention. The black neighborhoods are also starting to see friction with a growing Hispanic community.

The South Side (other than South Boulevard where I hang out) is the “safe” white part of town with the exclusive golf courses and cul-de-sac semi gated developments surrounded by brick fences that scream “poor people stay out!” (Except the Mexican gardeners). White people are moving in droves out of the city of Charlotte heading South. If there is a change in perception that the South Side is no longer safe, it could start a stampede. Unscrupulous real estate people in other cities have been known to incite that kind of fear.

So the event overnight could become problematic. This happened literally where I have been doing Pokemon – it is about three miles from here. Two women in a car were on Pineville Mathews highway around 3 am. The driver was shot dead and the passenger was shot and in serious condition. Police seem pretty sure it was not a random shooting. Maybe it was a lesbian love triangle that flared up on Gay Pride day. Hard to say….
