Hofstra University on LonGuyland New York will be the scene of the “debate” that may well decide the 2016 election. Hofstra has lots of contacts with the TV Networks and proximity to Manhattan. Is it worth college tuition? Hard to say.
I know half of America is rooting for Hillary to stroke out on live TV. What snacks are you planning to have on hand? (Assuming wW3 doesn’t start with Russia tonight) ????
I hope he calls her a petulant, overbearing, screechy windbag. Not quite Marquis of Queensbury, but it might get her closer to a seizure.
Refreshments? Cheese and crackers and if it goes well, perhaps a glass of wine.
Not really related, but on the Sunday Alex Jones show, he mentioned that Ted Cruz finally endorsing Donald Trump has pushed Glenn Beck over the edge.
Roger Stone also indicated Trump is not doing “debate prep” where candidates try to do a cram course about every possible topic that might come up and then practice interacting with a standin. Ronald Reagan allowed himself to have consultants use the cram method on him one time and regretted it. Tonight, Trump will be Trump.
Hillary having a platform to look tall could be a mistake. If she does have a LOC, the higher you are, the harder you fall. Alex Jones was told by the secret service a long time ago that Hillary falls frequently. Because she is on the blood thinner Coumadin, hitting her head can be life threatening. Coumadin does not “dissolve blood clots”, it just reduces the formation of new clots. That means if you start bleeding (like in your brain), the bleeding doesn’t stop. Intra cranial pressure goes up, creating back pressure. To save your life, they have to drill a hole through the skull to drain the blood and stop the bleeding.
There are drugs to dissolve clots, but they are used only in life saving circumstances like heart attacks or strokes with a fresh clot. Using it on an old clot in the brain could cause it to break loose before it has dissolved and now you have another stroke or worse.
Among prevention tips at WebMD
“Be careful with Coumadin. If you take this drug, also called warfarin, follow up regularly with your doctor to make sure your blood levels are in the correct range.”
Assorted nuts, a generous glass of sparkling pomegranate wine (homemade), and a good cigar (CAO Brazilia or La Gloria Cubana-Esteli). I am hoping for the best, I just hope she doesn’t die from the fall. I am scared that Trump might become that nasty 2nd grader we all hated.
Round One – I award it minimally to Hillary
Donald Trump is not Ronald Reagan. Hillary gave him several large openings – suggesting that creating jobs by creating new government initiatives. Reagan would have said the government is the cause of the stagnation and lost jobs. Trump pointed out that energy is the key to prosperity, but didn’t mention pipelines, fracking, the Paris Climate treaty
Round Two – Trump Loses
“I’m smart – I paid no taxes” was the wrong answer… Trump’s businesses pay other types of taxes…
Round Three – the Race Divide
Hillary gun control boilerplate vs Trump Law & Order, Stop & Frisk. Charlotte does not have a dangerous “inner city”…
Most law enforcement is not federal laws or enforcement. Hillary wants to do away with mandatory sentence minimums. Her husband passed three strikes and you’re out. Will Trump jump on “super predator” language of the Clintons? Yes!
Trump takes credit correctly for forcing Obama to produce his birth certificate. Trump has the sniffles. Hillary directly calls Trump a racist. That’s not going to stick
Award to Trump
Hillary looks calm and collected so far. Trump is all over. I am worried.
Lester Holt crossed the line on the Iraq war thing. Rather than doing “gotcha” on the Howard Stern 3 second clip (discussed elsewhere), if he had accepted Trump’s position and asked “Why were you against the Iraq War?” – that would have been a useful question and give insights into how Trump would decide “War or No War” as President. If he said something glib like “We’ll, it was a really bad war!”, then we find out he is an empty suit. If he said something like “I didn’t believe the WMD threat was credible”, Hussein was a bad guy, but that’s not our problem to solve”, we can’t afford to be the world’s policeman, we didn’t have broad support like the first war, etc… that would give insights. I learned nothing about Trump I didn’t already know. His secrecy and litigiousness bother me, but not as much as he doesn’t understand the job of President, and hasn’t at all dealt with the problem of a hostile Senate even if it is controlled ny Republicans
In a real business, the Board of Directors chooses the CEO and makes the rules. The CEO does not choose the Board. He can’t fill the Cabinet with his family members
Round 4 – Cyber Attacks
Hillary – Putin is doing it to help Trump!
Trump – makes mistake of mentioning ISIS
Hillary pivots to ISIS & terrorism
Loser – audience – this was a bad questions
CBS runs a tweet from Howard Deannimplying Trump is a cocaine User
Segment 6? – Nuclear weapons
Trump agrees with no first strike policy… Brings up North Korea and Iran deals
Conclusion: Hillary wins
It isn’t because she did anything spectacular, but Trump swung and missed. His knowledge about how the government works is very superficial. That might be good, but it’s hard to fix what you don’t understand.
Having said that, I still can’t see voting for Hillary. She has too much baggage.
What I’m getting out of this debate is: Do you want the same old BS (Clinton) or take a chance on some new BS (Trump)?
Good lord, that drone voice when she was yapping with about being a policy wonk, blah blah, I almost went to sleep. My wife did, LOL so at 9:50 pm she cut the pecan pie she made . It was good.
I like the law and order thing, but C’mon Donald beat her like a drum on on that . If he had studied on his statistics that would have helped.
Hell. I had a pool on times people could buy on the ‘Fives’, for when she will fall over. I guess we’ll roll it to the next debate. I starting to think A Jones is full of crap.
I agree with Fred, poor Donald was superficial on many of the topics. I agree with many of the positions, but he didn’t express /explain them very well. I fear that ‘Big H’ may pull ahead a little again.
Study Donald ! The country is in the balance.
Common sense gun control my ass. They already have background checks and if the person is on a anti-fly list or terrorist list, haul their ass into court, present the case.
otherwise shut the f up on that no fly list can’t buy no gun BS. If the person is accused by being put on a list, they have a right to know and there should be a straight forward procedure to have your name cleared. The rest is just noise.
I am glad I sold all my evil Black rifles, since Big-H ‘ has a problem with them. So she should have the secret service give up them Five-sevens. Those are scary, and any SCARs they may have. Lets see that !
‘Cigar’ good idea Jaymar. Missed that one. but going camping later this week so will have some cigars then.
Trump did good on pointing out that she deliberately had that email server outside the Gov. firewall. Should have hammered that more, instead of yapping at the end of the debate on, heck I can’t remember what, it was bad at the end of the debate.
Plus for Ivanka and Melanie.
To bad Ivanka isn’t running

My stream went out near the end. CBSN had no question one, two question 4s and a question 7 on a six section format. Lester didn’t admonish the crowd near the end. The Cybrr Attack question was a waste. He was trying to appear neutral, and was OK, but it was a lot of missed opportunities from him as well.
The teeet from Howard Dean suggesting Trump uses cocaine is 1000x inappropriate. CBS used very bad judgement putting that up – of course Trump and non-CBS viewers didn’t see that. It’s exactly why I will never trust CBS about anything. Ever.
Now the power just blinked off – lot of storm weather in the East tonight. The thing I love about the iPad is zero worries about power surges 😉
Duke Energy fried a lot of electronics in the last few minutes with horrendous attempts to keep the power up. My wifi DSL modem running on UPS is still up – I’m the only wifi router visible 😉 When it gives up, it will fail over to T-Mobile LTE which is presumably still up
Just got the SMS text message that the power is out! No manure Sherlock!
Estimated repair time 3:30 AM. We need a curfew! The way this failed, it might be a very wide spread outage
Just failed over to LTE. There is no point plugging Linux machine into UPS – battery doesn’t kick in fast enough to prevent hung desktop system.
Damn, those marauding trees are at it again. This is the only serious outage in Charlotte – 941 customers. TTR now 4:30 AM.
The test server is now just another instance in the “cloud” in Texas. #poweroutagesdontmatter
Going back to the debate…Donald Trump gave us a glimpse at that detestable 2nd grader. I am extremely disappointed. I have maintained my sanity by repeating: “The devil I know vs. the devil I don’t know.” Maybe I should stop caring, the country is gone just the same. We are no longer circling the drain, we are already in the pipes, next stop Amerizuela. The question is should I use Potassium Cyanide or will a .45 hollow point do the trick?
His response to the bankruptcy issue was the most troubling to me.
He could have answered something like “America’s success is based on we reward risk takers who innovate by not punishing them for the rest of their life if they fail a few times before they succeed”. Instead we got “I’m smart, I hired good lawyers and took advantage of the law. If you want to stop that, change the law”
Lawyer types have this notion and the law and morality are equivalent concepts. The Clintons exemplify this. When asked if some action was bad, their first action is always to declare “It isn’t illegal!”
Trump is like the man a woman is sizing up for marriage. She wants a husband so badly that she starts rationalizing away the problems. Yes, he gets drunk every night and beats me, but once we get married and I fix him up, that will stop.
They had the state of Maine and Florida in Trump, but they have changed it now.
In case you want to see what I am talking about. http://www.electoral-vote.com/
‘Electoral-Vote’ is a pro-democrat site the tries to portray themselves as non partizan’s.
Fred you can decide if you want the link here. It does list the pollsters , some are Rasmussen.

I’m catching up on the John Batchelor post debate chatter. There are a variety of perspectives among his guests – the WSJ and National Review people are anti Trump but resigned to the fact that Trump is the candidate.
Larry Kudrow was my barometer as he’s been supportive and trying to change Trump and fix his problems. His theme along with pretty much every guest was “coulda shoulda woulda”. He could have said… he should of said… I would have said…
None of the guests think Trump “won”… either Hillary won or maybe “it didn’t change many minds”
Trump telegraphed a couple times that he thinks Hillary would win – the most obvious being his Blurb about living on Pennsylvania Avenue even if he loses. But if you paid attention, I’ve said from the beginning he doesn’t want to be President 😉
