Early Voting began on October 20th – for Mecklenburg County, that means 10 polling places are open. This is the first Saturday of early voting – not a surprise that it is busy at 9 AMish. Given my lack of ability to stand more than about 10 minutes, voting today was improbable, so today is a scouting mission – partly to get familiar with the location, partly to be an infowarrior and keep my eyes out for busloads of illegal ISIS terrorists arriving to vote, and see how many people are part of the secret Alex Jones plan to wear red to support Trump and prove voting fraud.
Here is the scene:
Now I know what you’re thinking – that looks like Pokémon Go! Damn straight it is. I found something much more important than voting for President – a parking spot where I can access two pokéstops without moving. I can sit here all day and load up on pokéballs (I was completely out) without annoying anyone or frightening parents with small children with my clown makeup. ArtStoneCLT is looking towards the library.
If you want to play along in the real world, I am in the parking lot of the Morrison Blvd branch of the public library. It has a huge parking lot in a very expensive place in Charlotte – about a block from SouthPark™ mall. If you are curious, Mr Morrison owned the farm that was here 100 years ago. Government agencies have infinite budgets to build temples to their power, probably borrowed from China via Goldman Sachs.
So I hear you yelling – what about the voting! So there is a line of about 20 or 30 people outside – I don’t know if it snakes around inside the door like at Disney World. The red car next to me was parked about half an hour before the owner returned, but no idea how long it was here before then. An entire tree was consumed just to put up hundreds of yard signs.
I don’t have a real sense of who the people here are voting for – this is the richest, whitest part of town – but that also means people here live in Charlotte, New Jersey. Any voter in the county can vote in any polling place, so there will be no rhyme or reason to who votes where. However, if a group of black gang members show up, they would be extremely noticeable.
I may try to visit the Balantyne voting center. You may remember Balantyne is an oasis of middle class black people living in the far South End.

Parking in Ballatyne Village is impossible. This is one of those fake old fashioned shopping centers laid out if it is Main Street USA, trying to squeeze 50 pounds of manure in a 20 pound sack. I doubt the businesses here are fond of the problems this is causing
